The controversy continues to spread about wearing bra and its role in the sagging breasts, raising another debate on the link between this and breast cancer.
The Bra: Indispensable Underwear?
At the beginning, we need to stress the importance of bras which, as their name suggests, is a piece of underwear needed for the maintenance of the breasts, especially larger. Indeed, no bra, women will feel some discomfort coupled with a feeling of discomfort and sometimes pain in the back.
Nevertheless, not all the bras are good for health. For example, if you prefer the model of push-up style (which makes bigger breasts at least visually) instead of regular it may expose you to serious health problems. Let us see why.
How Wearing A “Bad” Bra Can Be Harmful For Your Health?
According to a study, wearing bra can cause breast cancer.
This idea is also defended by Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer anthropologists, authors of the book Dressed to Kill (1995). In this study, that was conducted on 4,000 women, the link between breast cancer and the wearing of the bra is clearly highlighted by demonstrating that lymph flow is disrupted, increasing the risk of developing this disease.

Women who wear a bra 24 hours a day have 3-4 times higher risk of developing breast cancer someday.
Women who wear bras every day (12 hours per day), but not during sleep, 1 out of 7 is at risk to get breast cancer.
Women who wear bras less than 12 hours per day – 1 out of 52 is at risk to get breast cancer.
Women are rarely (if ever) bra – 1 out of 168 is at risk to develop breast cancer someday.
Both anthropologists have also examined past habits of these women, to try to understand the different stages of evolution of the disease (which takes a long time to develop).
Today, these theories seem to have proven. Many scientists and health experts now support the idea that wearing a tight bra disrupts the lymphatic drainage, which can eventually cause breast cancer. Why? Because lymph play key role in promoting blood circulation and elimination of all the harmful toxins from the body.

Professor Jean-Denis Rouillon, the author of this study showed that women who were not wearing a bra had a stronger muscle tissue, unlike women who remained faithful to the habit of wearing bra.
They weakened muscle tissue, which constitutes a potential risk factor for sagging.
Conclusions of this study: the risk of breast cancer is increased in women who wear a bra more than 12 hours a day. Wearing a bra can affect the health of women through other mechanisms such as temperature. Why? Because the breasts are “external” parts of the body and naturally have a lower temperature. Although breast cancer is hormone-dependent, the temperature can have a negative impact on hormone production.
What To Do To Prevent Yourself From And Reduce The Risk Of Breast Cancer?
To avoid compromising the health of your breasts, which depends as we have just seen from a good lymphatic drainage, we must also consider the factors that increase this risk such as those of wearing underwear. Depending on the bra, size and number, number of hours you wear it, you will influence the lymphatic drainage quality.
Also, given the tendency most women to choose bras as fashion, this drainage problem can be avoided by favoring a well-fitting bra instead of “trendy” bra that will impair your circulation..
